UPDATED:

So citizen Frances K. Ransley believes we have a right to know those within our local government who commit malfeasance. Well that makes three of us: you, Frances; me; and the person who tried to set a wrong right.

Sadly, Judge Stephen O. Hedstrom, County Counsel Anita L Grant, Jury Foreman Leon Ripplinger and the rest of the Grand Jury members think otherwise.

The supervisor and others who abused the phone privileges, and did not inform or repay before being told they must make reimbursement, are thieves. There is no after-the-fact forgiveness because someone changes the phone usage system and then tells the unidentified abuser that he must make reimbursement.

Changing a policy does not abdicate a person from being held accountable for his/her actions. Our governmental system started the cover up when they made the person report to the Grand Jury. The system, as it is designed, has made the members of the Grand Jury lap dogs and not watch dogs for our government.

As the old saying goes, “You don”t ask a liar if you want to hear the truth.”
