Born in Camp, AR, on Aug. 24, 1920, Vena Louise was loved by all who knew her. She was often called “Mom” or “Grandma” by her “Heart Family” that she adopted where ever she lived. Her name, Vena, means Angel and she was truly an angel on earth. She spent her years enjoying her hobbies of photography, genealogy, flower arranging, volunteer work and raising her three children. The true love of her life, however, was her beloved husband of 44 years, Cecil Marcellus Ross, who preceded her in death. Vena Louise Nuckols Ross went home to be with the Lord and Cecil on Sept. 26, 2006.

She is survived by her three children, Marvin (wife Jan) Ross, Vena (VJ) Ross and Charolette (husband David) Anderson; three grandchildren, Christina, Richard, and James; two great-grandchildren; and various other family members and friends.

A memorial celebration of her 86 years will be held on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2006, at Chapel of the Lakes on High Street in Lakeport at 1 p.m.
