MIDDLETOWN — A woman missing since Sunday was found safe on Tuesday by an employee of Guenoc Ranch.
According to the Lake County Sheriff”s Office, Lesa Marie Skaggs said she had become lost during a four-wheeling outing with a friend in the Bureau of Land Management area east of the Homestake Mine.
Skaggs reported being tired, cold and dehydrated and was transported to Redbud Community Hospital after meeting with Assistant Search and Rescue Coordinator Detective Nicole Costanza.
Skaggs informed LCSO personnel that she felt it was too dangerous to ride on the trails with her friend and that she had become disoriented and lost her bearings while walking out of the area.
LCSO recommends that individuals enjoying the open areas of Lake County who find themselves lost should remain where they are and wait for help to arrive.
