KELSEYVILLE — It wasn”t an inspired performance, but it didn”t need to be. Katie King pounded out 10 kills and Kaitlyn Goff added another nine as the Kelseyville Knights made short work of the Fort Bragg Timberwolves 25-13, 25-5, 25-21 in a North Central League I North varsity volleyball match at Kelseyville.
It the North opener for the Knights (1-0), now 20-2 overall. Fort Bragg is 0-2 in league.
“We passed the ball terribly,” Kelseyville coach Larry Bresso said. “We barely went through the motions out there. Maybe we need to dump a game to get them fired up.”
Jamie Stockman and Amy Dawson had seven kills apiece for the Knights.

Clear Lake def. Lower Lake
At Lower Lake, Shana Hiatt”s 12 kills and seven blocks powered the Clear Lake Cardinals to a 25-22, 25-20,2 2-25, 25-18 NCL I interlock win over the Lower Lake Trojans, who were led by nine kills from Passion Allen and eight kills and three aces from Amber Shoffeitt.
Courtney Harris and Savannah Harrison had five kills apiece for Clear Lake.
Renita Gillam had five blocks and four aces for Lower Lake.
Boys” soccer
K”ville 2, St. Vincent 2 (tie)
At Petaluma, Gustavo Valadez scored two first-half goals and the Kelseyville Knights tied St. Vincent in NCL I interlock action.
Kelseyville (6-1-2) led 2-1 at halftime.
Valadez” second goal was a thing of beauty, according to coach Eduardo Ledesma. “He was facing away from the goalie when Luis Macias passed him the ball. He (Valadez) kicked it up in the air, made a half turn and kicked it over the goalie with his left foot. I was impressed.”
Girls” soccer
St. Vincent 4, K”ville 0
At Kelseyville, St. Vincent blanked the Kelseyville Knights in NCL I interlock play. The Mustangs scored all of their goals in the second half.
Upper Lake 5, Cloverdale 0
At Upper Lake, Daniella Santana scored twice and Rebecca Breton, Crystal Snyder and Yessica Ayala added goals as the Upper Lake Cougars beat Cloverdale in NCL I South action.
Defensive standouts for the Cougars, now 2-2-1 in South action, were D.J. Bohlen and Krista Collins, according to coach Ana Santana.
