Again, as November elections approach we, the American public, become overwhelmed with political ads making me crazy, but not for the reasons you might think.
I am hereby standing up against political parties. Political parties have become propaganda machines, distracting voters from serious issues. Did the people we elect forget exactly what their duty is? These elected officials are representatives of the people, there to serve the people, not lobbyists or political party agendas. They are in office to represent our best interests, not make politics a career.
House Representatives and Senators should make what they have declared a living wage $5.15 an hour. People should become politicians because it is a calling, not big business. We the people should vote for candidates based on who they are and what they stand for and not vote down party lines.
Political parties have become crutches for the lazy voter. This is exactly what Republicans and Democrats want: no thinking just checking the appropriate box. Our government is too small for a people that are too diverse.
I want more town meetings, I want voting on local issues with special ballots every month, and I want a national election ballot automatically mailed to every citizen engaging them to vote, including a voting pamphlet with facts about the candidates from independent sources.
I want the people to be involved again. I want resurgence in involvement and interest in politics in this country.
Republicans and Democrats have us and themselves so concerned with who has majority that we have forgotten we the people are no longer in control. Politicians” platforms should be derived from the voters they represent not mandated by party lines.
I want politicians who represent me, not and elephant or a donkey.
