Ronald Curt Zastrow, born June 6, 1916, entered into rest on Oct. 10, 2006.
Ron was born in Marin County and moved to Lake county in the 1940s. After serving in the US Army during World War II he came home to take care of his mother due to his father demise. An admirer of nature in all her beauty, a beautiful cloud formation or the local redbud in bloom would bring out the most joyful exclamation from him. Flower and gardening were passions instilled to him by his mother and he always had beautiful house plants and cut flowers in his home. Ron worked at Masonite in Ukiah and the Postal Office from which he retired.
A member of St Michael”s and All Angels Episcopal Church in Fort Bragg. Ron dedicated himself to his Masonic brothers at Hartley Lodge Lakeport, the past Master and served as Treasurer for 25 years. He has repeatedly stated that theres is no better thing than enjoying a nice dinner and a glass of wine among his brothers and their wives. He always enjoyed the fellowship and good will. Ron gave a lot of himself and of his own possessions. To know him was to know a really good man.
Ron was preceded in death by his father Curt; mother, Edith and the love of his life Lucille Zastrow.
