Shaul family and county cronies versus Villenueva is the way the head line should read. It seems to me that the Record-Bee should be recognizing this for what it is: abuse of power. Our paper is supposed to be our government watchdog. It is not in this instance. It looks like the grand jury should be brought in on this, in my opinion.

The pig farmer is right to believe he is a pig farmer. It does not matter whether we have one or 100 pigs, if one is raising them they are in fact a pig farmer. The Shauls went in and bored a well right next to the pigs; how did they get their permit? The Shaul family built a house right next to the pigs. Let me see; pigs first, Shauls second. No question about it, Shauls were in the wrong. Who are they to push people around? Whoever gave them the permits to build and drill was breaking the law for the Shauls. Should that person still have his/her job? No! The well should be condemned. Move the well and get a county inspector that does not owe the Shauls. If the Shauls get their way property values will be affected, the right to do what you want to do on your property will be gone. Future Farmers of America and the 4-H will be devastated. It is not just pigs now, it is all animals.

Don”t let the Board of Supervisors and Shauls ruin it for everyone. Show up at the meetings. Don”t let the supervisors table it till we are all worn out. If you have a horse, pigs, chickens, cow, whatever the animal might be, or a dream of having such, you had better show up at these meetings. The supervisors are going to take away your rights and dreams. Stop them in their tracks. Don”t let the few take away our dreams.

Stop them while you can!
