UPDATED:

Vena Louise Nuckols Ross was born in Camp, Ark., on Aug. 24,1920. Vena Louise was loved by all who knew her. She was often called “Mom” or “Grandma” by her “Heart Family” that she adopted wherever she lived. Her name, Vena, means “angel” and she was truly an angel on earth.

She spent her years enjoying her hobbies of photography, genealogy, flower arranging, volunteer work and raising her three children. The true love of her life, however, was her beloved husband of 44 years, Cecil Marcellus Ross, who preceded her in death.

Vena Louise Nuckols Ross went home to be with Cecil and the Lord on Sept. 26,2006.

She is survived by her three children, Marvin Ross (wife Jan), Vena “VJ” Ross, and Charolette Anderson (husband David); three grandchildren, Christina, Richard and James; two great-grandchildren and various other family members and friends.

A memorial celebration of her 86 years will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, 2006 at Chapel of the Lakes on High Street in Lakeport.
