Thank you, Record-Bee, for the letter to the editor from Ed Robey a few days ago (“Setting the record straight,” Readers” Views, Oct. 11).
I appreciate the additional confirmation of what had largely been known in regards to Gary Lewis” claim to have taken this town”s water woes early on in the process to county counsel for assistance. What is most dismaying is the alacrity with which he was willing to throw retired County Counsel Cameron Reeves under the bus to cover his own failure to assist this town, in a timely manner, regarding a very serious matter.
Cameron Reeves is a wonderful gentleman and a true public servant. As a citizen of District 3 please accept my apology for such unworthy treatment.
Gary Lewis promised us at the town hall meeting at the senior center before the Public Utility Commission hearings were held that he would help us. His help consisted of throwing us under the bus, also. Is it easier the second time around? All that is left to do is paraphrase President Bush: “Heck of a performance, Brownie.”
