LAKEPORT — While many in the community know of the discussions regarding the banning of feeding of ducks at Library Park, many are not aware of the installation of security cameras there and the enactment of a new alcoholic beverage ordinance.
These recent changes have occurred with the implementation of the Library Park Safety Plan. The Lakeport Police Department is now conducting a research project along with a community survey in order to measure how safe people feel in the park following the security cameras” installation and enactment of the alcoholic beverage ordinance.
Chief of Police Kevin Burke encourages the community to participate in this survey, which is anonymous and confidential.
The results of this 20-question survey will be published in November and will be used by the Lakeport Police Department to evaluate the new Park Safety Plan.
The survey should take no longer than 15 minutes to complete and after results are reviewed and analyzed, all survey instruments, either paper or via the internet, will be destroyed, Burke said.
The survey can be completed online by clicking the “Take Our Park Safety Survey” link on the Lakeport Police Department Web site, located at www.lakeportpolice.org; it also can be completed in person.
The surveys are available at both the Lakeport Police Department and Lakeport City Hall.
