For some reason, the senators we have representing us do not feel they need to answer their mail, which has questions which might embarrass them if they answered their mail.
How do we get senators that we elect to follow the majority of their constituents” wishes?
If big money got them there, then we need to boycott the big money. This would include outside folks who want our senators to vote on issues which could influence even our state. Repercussions, yes, but we need to figure out how to get someone in Sacramento and Washington, D.C. to represent us and not the “lobby” folks
Our local newspaper should be more than happy to look into this for us. If not, perhaps we need to find another “public” way.
I am all for term limits. We should put people in public office who want to, and can serve, the folks who elect them to the position. They should not seek election because of the money, the insurance or other goodies that can come to the position. Once they are there for any of those reasons, they will do, say or look out for special interest groups that can keep them there.
Keep all this in mind when you vote, and you must vote.
