Members of the Lakeside Writers Guild will read from their work in the new anthology “Reads,” 5 p.m. Thursday,Oct. 26, at Crave Coffee House 21037 Calistoga Street, Suite 9, in Middletown. Moontide is hosting the free event and the public is invited.

The guild is presenting its newest creation “Reads: An Anthology of Writings by the Lakeside Writers Guild.” A total of eight local authors are represented in the book, which includes work by Hal Z. Bennett, Fran Ransley, Jane Thanx, Laurelee Roark, Linda Drew, Melissa Drew, Richard Schmidt and Susanne Scholz.? You may recognize many of these names for their previously published work in and around the county. ?

The seeds for this new anthology were planted during a seminar at the Lake County Arts Council where the Lakeside Writer”s Guild was born five years ago. A strong sense of friendship and community sparked their talents.?Best-selling author and editor Hal Z. Bennett led the group once a week for the past five years and encouraged them to self-publish.
