With the upcoming elections all I see in the news today is about the war in Iraq and the War on Terror. The subject of legal abortion in the United States has taken a back seat and no longer seems important.
In the last five years we have lost 2,730 of our American soldiers to the War on Terror. Statistics show that we are losing about 3,700 children to abortions a day.
Don”t get me wrong, like most people in America I grieve the loss of the brave military personnel that died protecting my freedom, but there is something here in our own country that needs to be taken care of. In just 2003 alone we have lost 1,287,000 babies to abortion in the United States. “One percent of all abortions occur because of rape or incest; 6 percent of abortions occur because of potential health problems regarding either the mother or child, and 93 percent of all abortions occur for social reasons (i.e. the child is unwanted or inconvenient).”
The difference in these two statistics on deaths is that the people in the military volunteer to serve their country and know the risk they are embarking on in order to keep America safe. On the other hand the aborted children have no say what so ever on their fate.
My complaint is our priorities are screwed up; we should be more concerned with fighting the war against abortion.
