I am writing in regards to Mr. John Lindblom”s recent article about Kelseyville beating Willits in a NCL I North league football game. How fortunate for Kelseyville to have such a “devoted” fan especially when Mr. Lindblom is one of the main sports writers for the local paper that covers all of the Lake County high schools.
I also quote from Lowell Cohn”s column in the Sports section of the Santa Rosa Press Democrat, Oct. 30, 2006: “There was a time God, it seems so long ago I was proud to visit a town with the 49ers. I didn”t root for them. That”s a no-no for a sportswriter”, etc. Hmm!
To set the record straight, Middletown and Kelseyville are “sharing” the lead in the North both with a 2-0 record in league; and Middletown is 7-1 overall and Kelseyville is 5-3 overall. It will be an exciting football season going down to the wire with each high school in the league hoping they”ll win the championship.
Anything can happen in this exciting game of football so, are you listening, Mr. Lindblom? We are the Mustangs and we couldn”t be prouder!
