I have a suggestion for Caltrans or whomever deals with roadway signs.
I”m giving this suggestion because on many mornings there are some drivers who drive without their headlights even though it is still significantly dark enough to use them. Also, it brought to mind that on the last overcast days we had (I think two weeks or so ago), I noticed some people still drive without their headlights.
May I suggest Lake County put up roadway signs, maybe even on the same post as the speed limit signs, something such as I”ve seen on Cobb Mountain: “Please check your headlights” or “Please be sure your headlights are on” or … the possibilities are many.
Another suggestion would be neon signs that catch the eye or signs that are as large as the speed limit signs. Most people seem to be in a rush these days myself, too, sometimes and many drive much faster than the speed limits. And it seems everyone read the article in the Press Democrat many months ago that the police are understaffed and willing to let people go 5 to 10 miles over the speed limit without stopping them. Personally, I think that should not have been announced to the world but hopefully too our police department staff problems will be corrected soon.
And the possible headlight reminder signs could be justified because using headlights is now a law in California.
