In your Oct. 27 article on Northern California Power Agency (NCPA), I made some comments complimenting NCPA on their efforts to reduce the seismic impacts of their geothermal power production.
Unfortunately, in making these comments, it sounded like I was being critical of Calpine. I would like to clarify my statements.
I consider both NCPA and Calpine to be good neighbors. The community of Anderson Springs has been the recipient of many improvements funded in part by Calpine and we are very grateful for their ongoing support.
Calpine has established a yearly fund for community projects in Anderson Springs. NCPA has a similar fund that is more directly tied to mitigation of earthquake damage.
As a resident of Anderson Springs, I want to thank both corporations for their support and financial backing.
