Cleaning out your collection? The Arts Council could use those paintings!

The Lake County Arts Council and Main Street Gallery is asking that you donate to them any artwork that you are tired of looking at or storing. Let those items bring to someone the joy they once brought to you, or to your parents, or to the one who originally gave them to you.

The Arts Council, an unfunded, volunteer organization dedicated to supporting all the arts, is beginning a series of live auctions to benefit the LCAC and the Main Street Gallery. In the first auction, at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 19, about half of the current LCAC collection will be offered. It is hoped that donations will make it possible to hold quarterly auctions.

The Arts Council is happy to accept prints (especially if matted), paintings in all media, empty frames, sculpture and craftwork.

The Lake County Arts Council is a 501c3 non-profit, so donations are deductible. Contact the executive director, the office manager or the gallery manager if you want to get a receipt for your taxes. For more information, you can call the gallery manager at 275-3238.
