CLEARLAKE — The Clearlake City Council meets in special closed session tonight, Wednesday, Nov. 15, concerning the discipline/dismissal/release of two public employee positions and appointment of an interim city administrator.
The meeting will be called to order at 7 p.m. tonight in Clearlake City Hall, 14050 Olympic Drive.
Appointment of special legal counsel for limited matters will be taken up while in open session. The council will then convene to closed session for the employee matters cited above.
The two positions to be discussed in the first matter are unidentified on the agenda, which was posted Tuesday by Deputy City Clerk Melissa A. Swanson.
An agenda was posted late Monday concerning a special meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 14. If the meeting had taken place as scheduled, it would have included acceptance of a resignation by the city administrator along with approval of a separation agreement.
However, a followup notice that was issued on Tuesday morning indicated that the meeting had been canceled.
Other recent gatherings by the Clearlake City Council that pertained to employee matters include a special meeting on Nov. 9.
The purpose was to hold closed-session performance evaluations for the positions of city administrator and interim community development director. Swanson posted the meeting”s agenda on Nov. 8.
The special meeting followed the council”s regular meeting, which also occurred Nov. 9. A closed-session discussion concerned an employee appointment for interim Chief of Police.
The council also met in closed session on Nov. 1 to conduct a performance evaluation for the position of city administrator.
