Thank you, Lake County
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the voters in Lake County who supported the Clear Lake Campus of Yuba College by voting Yes on Measure J. Your support is much appreciated. Thanks also to all those who worked so hard to help us get the word out regarding the benefits of Measure J. Your work in helping us put up signs, making phone calls, and allowing us to use your name in support made a tremendous difference in helping us to be successful in our campaign.
The measure passed in Lake County with more than 58 percent of the vote. We believe that reflects the value you as voters place on education, and the confidence you have in your local community college. Again, thank you.
As you may be aware the final results of this measure are not yet determined. Yuba College serves parts or all of eight different counties, and our bond measure must pass with a cumulative rate of 55 percent approval from the voters. As of today, we are on the plus side of 55 percent and believe that is the way it will stay, but the final results await confirmation from election officials.
At that time, we will begin planning for the future, and look forward to serving our students and community in new, improved, and permanent facilities!

Appreciates Konocti”s vote of confidence for board
I would like to thank all my supporters who worked so hard in my behalf in the recent election. I would also like to thank the citizens of the Konocti Unified School District for their “vote of confidence” for the current board. I believe the outcome of this election shows that the community recognizes and appreciates the many positive achievements of our district in the last four years. I also believe that the community acknowledges that Konocti is a “work in progress,” that while we have made many significant and fundamental changes, there is still much work to do. I deeply appreciate the opportunity to continue to be a part of the Konocti leadership team.
Leaders, however, can only do so much. The real work happens, not twice a month at the board table, but in the classrooms every day. Our teachers, support staff and site principals are the real heroes, and they, along with parents and the kids themselves, are the ones to whom the credit really belongs.
I am confident that the Konocti Unified School District is well on its way to achieving its goal of becoming a high-achieving and well-regarded district. I am looking forward to working with staff, parents, students and the community in the next four years.
Again, thank you.

Selling U.S. piece by piece?
As our Federal Government moves us closer to bankruptcy, Americans would be shocked to learn that foreign organizations are buying our infrastructure at an alarming rate.
To learn more about this sellout of America visit www.thenewamerican.com and read the article “America For Sale?” for more information on this dangerous practice.
We must immediately contact our representatives and demand they oppose this selling of infrastructure piece by piece.
