Margaret Craig, age 93, a 21 year Lakeport resident, died peacefully Nov. 16, 2006 at Evergreen Lakeport Healthcare, following a long illness.

Mrs. Craig, who lived in the Del Lago neighborhood on Main Street before becoming ill, moved here from Santa Maria to be near her daughter Kathy Jansen. She had come to California from her native Winnipeg, Canada, when she married her husband, the late Wilfred Craig in 1945.

They lived in San Francisco, San Bruno, Tracy and Santa Maria, where Mrs. Craig worked in both retail and accounting. During the time they lived in Tracy, Mrs. Craig operated the family paint business.

Always active in clubs and groups, Mrs. Craig continued her work when she moved to Lakeport, joining the Lakeport Women”s Civic Club and taking an active role in the Lakeport Senior Center.

She is survived by her two children, Kathy Jansen (Larry) of Lakeport and Pat Craig (Kelly Gust) of Dublin; three grandchildren, Heather and Sarah Jansen both of Lakeport and Sam Craig of Dublin.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2 at Kelseyville Presbyterian Church, Church and Third streets, Kelseyville.

The family has asked that donations be made to the Lakeport Senior Center or Kelseyville Presbyterian Church.
