UPDATED:

After the recent election I am greatly encouraged about the good sense of the American people. Yes, there was a lack of good information from the mainstream media right after 9-11 which made all of us complicit in Bush”s war on Iraq. But once the information got disSeminated it was seen by the majority that the Iraq war was a result of the personal promotion of the Bush Administration.

I believe bipartisanship is a worthy goal after the election. It is correct to think commity and peaceful cooperation in government requires the forgiveness of past errors. However, bipartisanship does not extend to ignoring criminal conspiracy by leaders in government. Our nation is a nation of laws and this extends to the president and vice-president of the United States. Because so many lives have been lost in Iraq on both sides, and because the reasons stated by this administration for going to war there has constantly changed, an investigation needs to be done to see if there was a criminal conspiracy to delude the American public. The best venue for finding that out is through impeachment proceeding of the president and vice-president. Impeachment is not “throwing the bums out”, but rather a legal procedure to decide if American law has been circumvented that warrants their removal from office.

I”m sure many people think any impeachment proceeding against Bush and Cheney would be a highly partisan affair. It shouldn”t be. Unlike the impeachment against Clinton for lying about his affair with Monica Lewinsky, in this case hundreds of thousands of people have died either directly or indirectly because of of Bush”s decision to go to war. An investigation is warranted and the reasons for impeachment proceedings stand on their own regardless of your politics.
