UKIAH — Katie Stiles missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer and the Mendocino College Eagles fell 58-55 to Feather River in a non-conference women”s basketball game on Friday night at Mendocino College in Ukiah.
Amber Shepherd scored 15 points and Ashley Quiroga added 14 points to led the Eagles (1-4). Former Kelseyville High School standout Kristen Andre added seven.
Mendocino led 32-26 after one half but Feather River”s size inside took its toll on the smaller Eagles in the second half.
“We played fairly well and we”re getting better, but we couldn”t quite turn the corner,” Mendocino coach Stan Weiper said.
Mendocino hosts Feather River again today at 1 p.m.
