The Lake County Sheriff”s Office is seeking five unknown males who are suspects in a home invasion robbery that took place Wednesday, Nov. 15, in Clearlake Oaks.

At about 9:49 p.m. Nov. 15, Sheriff”s deputies Lyle Thomas and Jim Samples responded to the report of an armed home invasion robbery in the 11000 block of Widgeon Way in Clearlake Oaks. The victim reported to LCSO Central Dispatch that five suspects entered his residence armed with firearms and robbed him of money, property and his Toyota SUV.

As the deputies were responding, Thomas located a vehicle matching the description of the Toyota SUV on West Widgeon Way near the Lakeview Drive intersection. As he approached the Toyota he saw two subjects some distance from his location, running away from the vehicle. Thomas determined that the vehicle he had located was the same vehicle that was taken in the robbery.

Thomas secured the SUV as evidence and reported to other responding units what he had discovered. Sgt. Chris Chwialkowski and Deputy David Perry checked the area where the Toyota had been found, but they were unable to locate the subjects that Thomas had seen running from the vehicle.

Samples responded to the victim”s residence, where he met with the victim, a 45-year-old male, and his friend, a 46-year-old male who was also a Clearlake Oaks resident. The two men told Samples that the suspect(s) arrived on the property wearing masks and gloves and holding weapons. They bound the two men and demanded money and other property. The suspects continued demanding property and money, ultimately leaving with a large quantity of processed marijuana, electronic equipment, approximately $200 cash and the victim”s Toyota SUV. The investigation is ongoing.

Detectives Steve Brooks and Jerry Pfann were called to assist the deputies in the investigation, which is continuing.

Anyone having information related to this crime is encouraged to call Detective Brooks during business hours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday) at 262-4200.
