At 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 30, at Colored Horse Studio, located at 780 Waugh in Ukiah, Writer”s Read will host a free public event featuring members of the Lakeside Writers Guild. Refreshments will be available. Guild members will read from the recently published anthology, “Reads,” a collection of stories and poems dramatizing the humor and pathos of life and perhaps even opening our eyes to the world around us. Guild members reading at this event include Susanne Scholz, Richard Schmidt, Linda Drew, Laurelee Roark, Jane Thanx, Hal Zina Bennett and Fran Ransley.

Dan Barth, widely published literary critic and author of Coyote Haiku, says of “Reads,” “This anthology certainly broadened my view of Lake County life and letters`surprising, amusing, entertaining, edifying and titillating.” Writers Read is a monthly event and support comes from Poets and Writers Magazine, Tenacity Press and Colored Horse Studio. The reading will be followed at 8:15 p.m. with an open mic.

The Lakeside Writers Guild is a creative community of writers, founded in Lake County in 2002. If you are interested in learning more or joining the group, please call Laurelee Roark at 391-7725.
