Donate Toys for Tots

LAKEPORT: Ashley”s Restaurant will be hosting a toy drive from Dec 1 through Dec.18. For every unwrapped toy brought in, a free dessert will be awarded. All toys will be donated to Children of Domestic Violence in the Lake County area. Please come in and help support the community. Any questions please call 263-1399 or come in at 155 N. Main St.

Christmas Cheer Toy/Gift Drive

UPPER LAKE: The 13th annual Upper Lake Fire Department/Auxiliary Christmas Cheer Program for the Northshore areas of Blue Lakes, Upper Lake, Nice and Lucerne is well underway. We are seeking donations of unwrapped gifts/toys for children under the age of 17. Gift tags are available at the Upper Lake Branch of WestAmerica Bank. Donations can be dropped off at the Bank in Upper Lake, Pet Acres on Hiway 20 in Upper Lake, Nice Fire Department or Upper Lake Fire Department. Canned food drives for the program are being held at the Upper Lake Elementary and Middle School and by various other organizations in the Northshore Area. Christmas Festival of Music is Friday

LAKEPORT: The 21st annual Christmas Festival of Music will be held at 7 p.m. tonight at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, located at 600 16th St. The music of the holiday season is presented by local choirs, vocal soloists and instrumentalists free as a gift to the local community. In addition to the featured performers, the audience will be invited to sing Christmas carols. Refreshments will be served following the program.

Renaissance pageant holds first weekends

MIDDLETOWN: The annual Renaissance Christmas Pageant and Feast will be held at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and Dec. 8-9 Friday and Saturday and at 3 p.m. Sunday and Dec. 10 at 21211 Jackson St., between Armstrong and Douglas streets one block east of Hwy 29. The event will feature Renaissance music, food, and entertainment. All tickets must be purchased in advance — $30.Tickets are available via mail by calling 987-2653. Tickets may be purchased at Moontide, 21037 Calistoga St, Middletown, 987-4939; or at the Lake County Arts Council, 325 N. Main St, Lakeport, 263-6658. As a convenience, credit cards may be used at the Lake County Arts Council. Tickets to the Dec. 3 matinee at 3 p.m. already have been sold out. Christmas in Middletown

MIDDLETOWN: Christmas in Middletown begins Friday at 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. with 4-H Community Christmas Choir, Central Park Tree Lighting, face painting, photos with Santa, craft vendors, live nativity scene and a tri-tip dinner for sale. It continues on Saturday 4 to 8 p.m. with Crusin” Light Extravaganza, open shops, tree lighting, hand-made crafts, carolers, live nativity scene, and more photos with Santa. County Children”s Council Meets

CLEARLAKE: The Lake County Children”s Council will hold its next meeting on Dec. 6 at 1 p.m. at Pomo Elementary School Healthy Start. All interested parties are encouraged to attend this meeting to discuss issues related to child abuse prevention in our community. You are asked to be a part of the solution.

Clear Lake Trowel and Trellis Garden Club

LAKEPORT: The Clear Lake Trowel and Trellis Garden Club, members of Mendo-Lake Disrict of California Garden Clubs, Inc., also has a side group, Ka-ba-tin Redbud Arrangers, who meet the first Wednesday of each month to follow the selected item on their program. Members of local Trowel and Trellis Garden Club who would like to visit or join with the group on their meetings are welcome to do so. Tree lighting at Historic Schoolhouse

LOWER LAKE: The Lower Lake Historic School Preservation Committee presents its annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Holiday Open House Dec. 8 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. There will be an old-fashioned sing-a-long around the player piano, as well as music by Bill Barrows and Connie Miller. The tree lighting is at 5:30 p.m., Santa Claus appears from 5:30 to 6 p.m. and refreshments will be served. Admission is free. Open House at the Park

CLEARLAKE: A Christmas Open House will be held Saturday, Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Anderson Marsh State Historic Park, Highway 53. Santa will be on hand to greet children and old-fashioned Christmas songs will be performed by local musicians. Hot apple cider, cookies, and coffee are served free. Join the fun of an old-fashioned Christmas.

Holiday Charity Cocktail Party

KELSEYVILLE: The third annual Holiday Charity Cocktail Party will be held at Richmond Park Bar and Grill, 9435 Konocti Bay Road at 7 p.m., Dec. 9. There will be food, dancing and raffle prizes. Live music will be provided by T-2. The group will be collecting new shoes for school children kindergarten through 9th grade. Please bring your shoe donations the night of the party. You can donate new shoes, a gift certificate for any store that sells shoes or a check. The Lake County Office of Education Healthy Start Program will be the distributor. Sober Grad Bingo & Silent Auction

KELSEYVILLE: The Kelseville High School Sober Grad Committee is sponsoring a Family Bingo Night and Silent Auction, Saturday Dec. 9 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Kelseyville High Cafetorium. Bingo cards are only 2 for $10 and are good for all 8 games. Food will also be available. The silent auction will feature winery gift certificates, day spa treatments, jewelry and more.
