Davy Lee Bills Sr. passed peacefully surrounded by his family on Nov. 30, 2006.

He was born on April 18, 1929 in Seminole, Okla.

Davy was the youngest of eight. His family moved from Oklahoma to Delano, Calif., in the 1930s. Then on to Northern California where he attended Richmond High School. There he met his wife of 60 years, Ola Mae. Together they had five children, Sandy Reza (Danny) of Vallejo, Kathleen Solway (Tom) of Vallejo, Denny Horne of Lakeport, Davy Bills Jr. (Debbie) of Nice and Cindy Coppa (James) of Kelseyville. Also a part of the family is 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren with one on the way and numerous nieces and nephews.

After spending many summers in Lake County, they moved here in 1978 from Crockett. Davy worked at Myers Drum Co. in Richmond for 30 years and as a security guard at the Geysers for 10 years.

Davy was a great father, husband, grandfather and man, who lived his life fully. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

He loved to play golf and taught his children and some of his grandchildren to play the game. The entire family played in many of the Harbor opens here in Lake County back in the 70s and 80s. He was a member of SIRS and the American Legion, he also loved to bowl. He loved his vegetable garden and spent many hours there growing enough to share with family and friends.

Ola was a partner at Quistgard Travel in Lucerne until she retired, this gave them a chance to travel all over the world. The last two years they logged over 16,000 miles in their motor home touring North America.

Davy was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathleen; mother, Cora; and brothers, Robert, Forrest (Frosty), Wayne, Clinton, Jacky and Joe and his only sister Edna.

The family would like to invite friends to join them in a celebration of life in Davy”s honor 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8 at the Kelseyville Lion”s Club, 4335 Sylar Lane, Kelseyville. Come and share your happy memories with his family and have lunch.

The family prefers donations made to the American Cancer Society, 115 East Smith Street, Ukiah, CA 95482 or St. Jude Children”s Research Hospital, Memorial and Honor Program, 501 St, Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
