UPDATED:

Poets & Writers, Inc., a statewide literary service organization, is hoping to increase its support of writers who give readings or teach workshops in Solano and Lake counties.

According to program associate Jamie FitzGerald, “P&W is the only statewide literary service organization in California. Through our Readings/Workshops (R/W) program, we pay matching fees to writers giving readings or conducting workshops.?While our funding is for writers” fees, organizations must apply. We encourage libraries, community centers, colleges, museums and bookstores to apply for funding; nonprofit status is not required.”

If you are a writer who lives in Solano or Lake counties or if you are willing to travel to these places, P&W encourages you to initiate literary events with local libraries, arts organizations and art-friendly businesses (like bookstores and cafes) and spread the word about matching funds available through the R/W program.

Guidelines and an application for funding can be found at www.pw.org/rw.
