LAKE COUNTY — A story in yesterday”s Record-Bee erroneously reported Todd Falconer was elected to the Lakeport City Council. Falconer was not elected to the council. Jim Irwin and Ronald Bertsch were elected.
The election was certified by the county Tuesday.
One of Lake County”s tighter races was the contention between the two open Lakeport City Council seats by candidates Ronald Bertsch, Jim Irwin and Todd Falconer. Bertch took 31.1 percent of the votes; Irwin pulled ahead of Falconer in the final tally with 29 percent, winning by a margin of 16 votes. They were sworn in Tuesday night.
Overall, 64.9 percent of Lake County”s 31,564 voters stepped up and did their civic duty this election, with 29.9 percent voting at the poles and 32.7 percent voting by absentee ballot.
