LAKEPORT — The search for a missing “at-risk” man continues today. According to Lake County Sheriff”s Department spokesperson Sgt. Mike Morshed, a dive team was called out to north Lakeport Tuesday at 1:15 p.m. to assist in the search for Robert Beavers, 73, who wandered away from his home on Griner Lane around noon Monday. The sheriff”s department stated that upon leaving, Beavers said he was “going for a walk” near the lake across from his residence.

The dive team and Lake County Search and Rescue members responded to the area solely to assist in locating Beavers in case he reached the water, according to Morshed. REACH was also summoned because of their skill in scanning the surrounding area.

Information given to the sheriff”s department described Beavers as “having a bad heart” and “depressed over personal issues.” He did not take any of his prescribed medications with him. Beavers was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and black boots when he left.

The Lake County Sheriff”s Department is asking that anyone with information on the whereabouts of Beavers call their non-emergency phone line at 263-2690.
