* Nancy Ruzicka will tell “true life” stories about her daughter Marla and sign copies of “Sweet Relief,” the book by Jennifer Abrahamson that tells the story of her daughter, at noon Saturday, Dec. 16, at Giovanni”s Coffee and Tea in Loch Lomond. The event is a benefit for CIVIC, the organization that was founded by Marla to secure compensation for civilian casualties of U.S. conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.
* Dr. Peter Phillips, director of Project Censored (www.projectcensored.org), will speak at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, in Council Chambers at Clearlake City Hall. Benefit for Lake County Community Radio and PEG Channel TV8. Suggested donation is $15 but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
