LAKEPORT — The Lake County Sheriffs Department has called off the search for a 73-year-old “at risk” man who left his north Lakeport residence Monday. He was spotted Tuesday inside a Santa Rosa bar.
Robert Beavers” disappearance prompted a search involving REACH, the North Shore Dive Team and other local agencies when he walked away from his Griner Lane home at approximately noon. He reportedly said he was going for a walk by the lake across the street from where he lives.
Beavers left behind medication for a heart condition and “had been depressed over personal issues,” according to an LCSD report.
The owner of the 440 Club in Santa Rosa confirmed that Beavers was seen in the establishment at approximately 1 p.m. on Tuesday and that Beavers indicated he was headed toward Oroville.
Manager Chuck Menne said during his brief contact with Beavers that he “seemed to be his normal self.” Menne indicated that he knew Beavers from when he previously lived in Oroville, where Menne said he still apparently owns property.
Investigators noted that while he is still listed as missing, “his immediate well being is not threatened as previously thought.”
The LCSD thanked the public, REACH, the North Shore Dive Team and other agencies that assisted in the search.
