Regarding the article submitted by Linda Marie (Readers” Views Dec. 7), [I think] she is overreacting and a worry wort.

The small-town goodness will not be changed at all. Friends, a lot of new businesses come into Lakeport, they hang on for a time, then fail or go bust. They can”t make it ? no one spends any money in Lakeport. What do you mean sprawl? All the new homes being built are on the outskirts of Lakeport, nothing will change.

In these few passing years since 1995, Lakeport has really improved tremendously. We now have good transportation; it is getting much better.

No friends, that project of the more than 2,000 high-quality new homes and nice condominiums and a cracker jack golf course … We need afluence here. People spending money in the restaurants and businesses. Lakeport was stifling in inactivity but it is growing, getting better. I told Supervisor Farrington [I thought] it was a good project and worthy of consideration.

You cannot withstand the march of progress. Nothing will change in our small town atmosphere; it will always remain small town Lakeport. I keep hearing all this hubbub from all these nervous nellys. I am all for it, more afluent homes moving in up here on the outskirts and in our beautiful County.
