EUREKA — Tournament host St. Bernard High School fell behind early and never recovered as the Lower Lake Trojans used a big first half to win 67-45 in the championship game of the Crusader Classic on Saturday night in Eureka.
The Lady Trojans improved to 6-5 behind 18 points from tournament MVP Rissy Prude, 12 from Amber Shoffeitt and 11 from All-Tournament selection Passion Allen-LeNard.
Lower Lake (6-5) led 16-4 after one quarter and 35-16 at halftime.
“We”ve been waiting for a game when everyone was hitting on all cylinders on offense this was it,” Lower Lake coach Andrew Carpenter said. “We have five different players score points in the first quarter.”

Alhambra 69, Clear Lake 43
At Fort Bragg, Clear Lake stayed close for a half but Alhambra”s pressure defense finally took its toll on the Cardinals in the second half of the championship game at the Fort Bragg Tournament.
“They had constant pressure on us,” Clear Lake coach Jen Goff said of the full-court man-to-man and zone-trap defenses used by the Bulldogs for the first 3 ? quarters of the game.
“That caused us to make some mistakes,” Goff said.
Clear Lake easily won its first two tournament games to reach the finals and Goff said it was a productive trip for the Cardinals (5-5).
“We have nothing to be disappointed about,” she said.
Clear Lake center Brittany Rumfelt entered play 21 points shy of 1,000 for her career and finished with 15. Kaila Sterbank had 12 points and Molly Ryan added for the Cardinals.
Rumfelt was named to the All-Tournament team.
Kelseyville 48, Hoopa 38
Kelseyville 48, Happy Camp 30
At Hoopa, Kelseyville beat Happy Camp in the semifinals and went on to beat host Hoopa in the finals of the Hoopa Tournament.
Tournament most valuable player Lauren Nixon scored seven of her team-leading 17 points in the fourth quarter of the Knights” victory over Hoopa. Kelseyville entered the final period clinging to a 30-29 lead.
Jodi Snider added 11 points in the win and also was named to the All-Tournament team.
“Lauren, Jodi and Jill (Bailey) all did a great job in that fourth quarter,” Kelseyville coach Jim Salmina said of his team”s third straight win.
The Knights (4-6) beat Happy Camp earlier Saturday behind 11 points from Bailey and nine apiece from Snider and Nixon.
Upper Lake 38, Round Valley 34
At Fort Bragg, The Upper Lake Cougars held on down the stretch to beat Round Valley in the seventh-place game of the Fort Bragg Tournament.
Upper Lake led 36-22 after three quarters but scored only two points in the final period.
“We kind of sat back and panicked a little bit,” Upper Lake coach Froy Mendoza said.
The Cougars won without starters Caity Falge and Cierra Peel.
“Everybody else stepped up and did a good job,” Mendoza said.
Sarah Delk”s eight points led the Cougars and Sierra Higgins had six.
