Some time in November my son had his yearly checkup with Dr. Marlene Quilala. At the age of 5, he often associates his appointments with shots. He was upset before the appointment had begun because it was time for his flu shot. This appointment was different though. Dr. Quilala has started a child literacy program and children get to take home a new book.
Frankie was distracted from the pain of his injection with a new “Curious George” book. I read to my son often, but this is his special book from his friend Dr. Quilala. I think her new program is such a great idea. I just wanted to make sure Dr. Quilala knew that her new program was making a positive impact on people and hope that if anyone had any extra chidren”s books they would be willing to make a donation to her program at Lakeport”s Sutter Hospital.
