UPDATED:

Reading of the recent plant contaminations (spinach, lettuce, Taco Bell) I found myself recalling things I”d read about human diseases and the association to animal products.

The biggest (and scariest) thing I”ve learned is that many of our diseases do in fact originate from the use of animal products (i.e., many cancers including breast and prostrate, Alzheimer”s, strokes, diabetes, Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, osteoporosis, heart disease, not to mention salmonella, listeriosis, Guillian-Barre syndrome, campylobacter, e-Coli, etc.)

Many books point out these facts such as; “Mad Cowboy: Plain truth from the cattle rancher who won”t eat meat,” “No More Bull,” “Dying for a Hamburger: Modern meat processing and the epidemic of Alzheimer”s disease,” “Slaughterhouse (by Gail Eisnitz),” “Mad Cow U.S.A.,” “Brain Trust: The hidden connection between Mad Cow and misdiagnosed Alzheimer”s disease,” “Slaughterhouse Blues, Toxic Feasts,” and “How the Cows Turned Mad.”

How truly scary that the meat, eggs and milk we all thought was safe is killing us! (A chapter in “No More Bull” is titled: Revenge of the Animals). With this many books, the connection to diseases and animal products cannot be denied, ignored or justified. Lest anyone think the Beef Association or the FDA will tell you these things, we had better, for our health”s sake, rethink the matter because the diseases are due to pesticides used “on” the animals, what they are fed, modern processing methods, and fish toxins as DDT, PCB”s, lead and mercury.

Someone recently said “yuck” to the vegetarian foods I eat without trying it, several others liked it.I also eat veggie lunchmeat and frozen entree”s and you”d be surprised how close the taste is.

To everyone”s health in the New Year.
