Vera Estelline Hartsfield, age 83, of Bedford, Texas, a former long-time resident of Lower Lake, died Friday, Dec. 22, 2006 in Bedford. She was a devoted homemaker for 67 years and active member of the First Assembly of God.

She is survived by five children, La Fawn O”gea of Sulphur, La., Fort Hartsfield of San Ramon, Janet Wilson of Gaborone Botswana, Nora Ashwander of Hurst, Texas, and Michelle Crumpacker of Rocklyn. She is also survived by 10 loving brothers and sisters; 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Horace C. Hartsfield; sister, Hattie Robinson; son, Alvin C. Hartsfield and grandchildren Collins and Carissa Kibodcaux and Kelvin Powell.

A visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening, Dec. 28 at Jones & Lewis Clear Lake Memorial Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 29 at Jones & Lewis Clear Lake Memorial Chapel, 10140 Main Street in Lower Lake, with interment to follow at Lower Lake Cemetery. Pastor Marvin Barbee of First Assembly of God in Clearlake will officiate and the casket-bearers will be: Kim Hartsfield, Rod Crumpacker, Charles Wilson, Michael Ashwander, Billy Jetton Jones and Charles Miller.

Arrangements entrusted to Jones & Lewis Clear Lake Memorial Chapel.
