LAKE COUNTY — local funeral homes will be erecting a temporary memorial wall in honor of former President Gerald Ford. The public is invited to visit the memorials and sign a memorial book that the funeral homes will send to the Ford family in California.
Jones & Lewis Clear Lake Memorial Chapel manager, Karen Karnatzshares, “We believe, people need a place to go to express their sense of loss ? whether with quiet reflection or waves of emotion. By erecting this memorial, we hope to provide such a place for the people of Lower Lake, Lakeport and surrounding communities to mourn the loss of our former President.” When visiting the memorial at Jones & Lewis, located at 16140 Main Street, Lower Lake, or Jones Mortuary located at 115 S. Main St, Lakeport, Karen Karnatz said the public is welcome to bring flowers, photographs, candles, memorabilia, and drawings by children to enhance this memorial and to show our community”s respect for a former President. The memorial will be located at Jones & Lewis, 16140 Main St., Lower Lake, or Jones Mortuary located at 115 S. Main St, Lakeport,This memorial will remain in place through Jan. 7.
