Carolyn Victoria Charles known to her family and friends as “Vickie” was born in Alameda, Dec. 17, 1949 to her proud parents, Aeria and Lillie Dell Charles.
She attended elementary school in Alameda and graduated from Skyline High School in Oakland. She was a seamstress by trade.
Vickie passed away suddenly from a massive stroke suffered on Dec. 17, 2006 in Clearlake, where she had resided since 1989.
She leaves to mourn her an aunt Margarette Overton Mathis of Clearlake; first cousins Hosea Lee Henry and wife Amy of Oakland, Arthur Lewis and wife, Glenda of Oakland, Emma Jean Colman of Cotton Port, Louisiana, Thomas Simon and wife Thelma of Fort Worth, Texas, and Billie Ruth Johnson of Fort Worth, Texas, as well as a host of other cousins and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5 at East Bay Bible Church, 11200 Golf Links Road in Oakland. The Rev. Donel Reedus will be officiating.
