LAKEPORT — Former Lakeport Police officer Richard Erickson”s preliminary hearing was postponed again Wednesday pending a ruling on an evidence motion filed by defense attorney Don Anderson.

Judge Richard C. Martin spent most of the time originally designated for conducting the preliminary hearing for Erickson reviewing work files for the former officer instead.

According to District Attorney Jon Hopkins, the preliminary hearing cannot proceed until a ruling has been made on the motion.

Erickson, an 11-year veteran, is charged with felony misappropriation of government funds, stalking and making terrorist threats. He is also charged with one misdemeanor count of violating a restraining order.

Erickson pleaded not guilty on all charges Wednesday. His preliminary hearing has been continued until today at 8:30 a.m. in Dept. 2.
