Lee Strohmeier died peacefully at home on Shadow Ranch Road in Roseberg, Ore.

Lee was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Albert Strohmeier; sisters, Josephine, Adeline and Eva; brothers, Henry and Eddie; granddaughter, Zandra Strohmeier, question on brothers. She leaves behind her four sons, William Strohmeier of Sunnyvale, Phil Strohmeier and

Peggy Downs of San Jose, Guy and Sandra Strohmeiers of Kelseyville and Mark Strohmeier of Roseberg, Ore.

Mom was born in San Francisco and married Ralph Strohmeier in 1954. They raised their four sons in the Mountain View, while mom worked as a waitress. Mom was an avid bowler and went to numerous state tournaments in California, Oregon and Nevada. Mom”s other great love was camping. Every opportunity mom had during the summers she took us to “Napa Valley Ranch Club,” Lake Berryessa or Clearlake.

After retiring her love for camping never diminished, mom went on to take her grandchildren as often as she could to many places to enjoy the outdoors, often times having all five of them at one time.

In 1971 mom and dad moved us to Lake County when they purchased a “worm farm.” After selling the worm farm mom went back to waitressing at Kathies Inn in Clearlake for several years.

In 1982 after dad retired they moved to John Day, Ore., then on to Suthelrin Ore. It was in Sutherlin that “The never stop working,” Lee started volunteering for the Veterans Hospital and American Legion Women”s Auxiliary. She was also a major force in getting the Dial-A-Ride for Sutherlin, Ore. established. She also volunteered many years for the New Beginings S.P.C.A.

In 2003 and 2005 mom received the Presidents Volunteer Service Awards for her work in Roseburg Ore. She was still volunteering the week before she died.

Mom also loved and leaves her grandchildren, LauraLee Strohmeier of New York, Jennifer Strohmeier Hall of Lakeport, Daniel Strohmeier of Boston, Jeremy Strohmeier Downs of San Jose, Brodie Strohmeier of Myrtle Creek, Ore.; and great-grandson, Aiden Daniel Hall of Lakeport. She also leaves too many to name relatives and friends in Colorado, Wyoming, Oregon, Petaluma, Hillsbrough, Cupertino, San Francisco, San Ramon, San Mateo and Clearlake.
