MIDDLETOWN — Amber Begley scored 11 points and Amber Preusser and Alicia Siri each added 10 as the Middletown Mustangs improved to 2-0 in the North Central League I North junior varsity girls” basketball standings with a 48-43 win over the Willits Wolverines on Tuesday night in Middletown.
It”s the third straight victory for the JV Mustangs, now 5-13 overall. And they”re getting hot at the right time.
“Amber played really well,” Middletown coach Joel Pyzer said of Begley.
The team”s other Amber ? Preusser ? scored all of her points in the fourth quarter as the Mustangs wiped out a four-point deficit in the final period.
“She was a real big spark,” Pyzer said of Preusser. “She played tough for us. It was a real nice win.”
The Mustangs have a league bye on Friday and return to action on Tuesday in Fort Bragg at 4:30 p.m.
