* Clearlake Elks Lodge No. 2299 will hold its Friday night dinner from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Jan. 19 at Old Highway 53 and Crawford Avenue. Chef Robert will serve burrito grande with rice and beans or barbecued chicken for $9 per person. Dessert will be white and dark chocolate mousse for $1 more. All Elks and their guests are welcome. Saturday, Jan. 20

* A free bald eagle-viewing hike takes place Saturday, Jan. 20, in the Cache Creek Natural Area, led by natural resource specialists with the U.S. Department of the Interior”s Bureau of Land Management. Participants will meet at 10 a.m. at the Redbud Trailhead parking area, eight miles east of Clearlake Oaks. Additional hikes take place each Saturday though Feb. 24. Early registration is advised as hikes are limited to 25 participants. For more information, call the BLM field office at 468-4000.

Sunday, Jan. 21

* Clearlake/Callayomi Masonic Lodge No. 183 will serve the “Best Breakfast in Lake County” from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 21, in the lodge, located at 7100 S. Center Drive in Clearlake. The menu includes three egg omelets or eggs to order, ham or sausage, hashbrowns or pancakes or biscuits and gravy for $6. Children younger than 12 for $3.

Tuesday, Jan. 23

* A community town hall meeting takes place at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, at the Clearlake Oaks Moose Lodge. County staff will present the results of a Clearlake Oaks Opinion Survey and updates on the Plaza project, community parks and State Route 20 improvements. There will also be discussion and an open forum for community issues and concerns.
