Has anyone besides me noticed how the Republican columnists are whining now that they and their leader have been slapped down in the November election?
I do have to say that Ms. Lopez seems to be out in front in this particular area. Her column on Wed. Jan. 17 was a whiner”s deluxe edition. She even tries to say the Democrats should be as depressed as she is. Now that”s funny right there …
She keeps whining the Democrats have no plan to deal with Iraq. Even if that was true it isn”t necessary because all we have to do is watch the conservative Republicans continue to cut their noses off to spite their faces.
It is obvious to anyone who has studied Arabian history that what is currently going on in Iraq is exactly what their 4000 year history said would happen. That also makes it just as clear that Ms. Lopez, Bush and his administration haven”t learned a thing about the Arab mind-set.
Ms. Lopez keeps saying the Democrats “this” the Democrats “that” as if only the Democrats said “no” to the Republican mess in this country, in Iraq and around the world.
Ms. Lopez, ignoring how the rest of the world thinks the Bush years are the worst thing to happen to this country, many, many Republicans and Independent voters voted against continuing the mess Bush has put this country into concerning almost everything Bush has done. Like it or not Iraq is a worse mess than Vietnam ever was.
Vietnam was the North fighting the South to unify the country. Iraq is factionalized ethnic religious infighting. This type of fighting has been going on in the Arab countries for the last 4000 years. We, America, cannot stop it period.
