George Raymond Garland passed away on Jan. 22, 2007. He was born in Chicago, Ill., on March 5, 1919. He attended Lawrence College in Appleton, Wis., and served his country in the U.S. Navy in World War II in both the Atlantic and Pacific Theatres.
After serving as a Division Manager for Pacific Telephone Co., he retired to Lake County, where he enjoyed golf and traveling.
He is survived by his beloved wife of sixty-four years, Loretta; two children, Mary (Jeff) Navas of San Lorenzo and Michael (Genie) Garland of Ligonier, Pa.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
There will be no services at his request, but donations in his memory may be made to Hospice Services of Lake County, 1717 So. Main St., Lakeport, CA 95453
