Barbara Mae Mayotte was born Sept. 23, 1936 in Santa Monica and passed Jan. 19, 2007 in Santa Rosa.

Barbara went to school in Santa Monica and was a graduate of the USC Business School. She was a huge USC fan all her life.

Barbara married her husband Hal in 1972 and they were married for 19 years until he passed away in 1991. She lived most of her life in Southern California as an employment specialist and moved to Lakeport in 1998 to be near her family.

Barbara was an integral member of the AA community of Lake County, touching and helping so many lives. She devoted her life to helping others with a struggle she knew well. Barbara was sober for 21 years, something she was proud of. Even facing recent medical issues, helping others was her top priority.

Barbara is survived by her sister, Joan Johnston of Ukiah; two nieces, Jill Allen of Lakeport and Jan (Bill) Kendel of Marysville; great-niece, Jenny Allen of Sacramento; cousin, Mary Mayotte of New York; and her best friend and companion, Kelly, her dog.

She was predeceased by her parents, Ruth and Cyril Morrisey; husband, Hal Mayotte; and her brother-law, Jack Johnston.

Barbara will be greatly missed by her family and friends and a community of people whose lives she touched daily.

Barbara will be laid to rest with her husband in Southern California.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10 at Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary, 1625 High St., Lakeport.
