CLEARLAKE — County of Lake Public Services Department announces the next HazMobile event will be at the Lakeshore Fire Department on February 16 and 17. Households can bring up to 15 gallons of toxic items free of charge based on the size of the container, not the contents. A charge will be made for amount above 15 gallons. Items that are accepted include 5-gallon propane tanks, paint, solvents, fuels, pool chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, dry cell batteries, fluorescent light tubes (up to 60 feet free) and other toxins that cannot be put in the trash. Excluded items are televisions, computer monitors, ammunition, explosives, radioactive materials or infectious wastes. To learn how to dispose of these items properly, please contact 263-1980.
