Robert “Bob” Cameron passed on peacefully Jan. 29, 2007 at home, surrounded by his loved ones, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Pontiac, Mich., Oct. 27, 1931 and served in the Army spending most of his enlistment in Germany.
He loved fishing, bowling and gardening. Bob was both an active member in the Lakeport Elks Lodge and a longstanding member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his loving partner of 30 years, Magdalena McVay; son, Billie of Spokane, Wash.; daughter, Kristi of San Jose; sisters, Harriet and Elaine; brother, Doug; and many grandchildren, cousins, neices and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Nellie Cameron and his brother Donald.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3 at the Elks Lodge, 3775 Lakeshore Blvd.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the American Cancer Society, P O Box 22718, Oklahoma, OK 73123.
