KELSEYVILLE — The Kelseyville Little League will hold tryouts for Little League and Junior League players on Sunday.
Tryouts for Little League players is 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Kelseyville Little League field. Tryouts for Junior League players is 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Kelseyville High School.
This is the final tryout date.
In other Kelseyville Little League news, the league will hold a fundraising rummage sale on Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Kelseyville Lions Club. All proceeds benefit the league and help offset its costs.
- Westshore Little League tryouts in Lakeport
LAKEPORT — Westshore Little League tryouts and late sign-ups for baseball and softball take place Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Lake County Fairgrounds Little League fields on Martin Street in Lakeport.
Players signing up must bring a certified copy of their birth certificate and proof of residency (such as a utility bill).
Anyone wishing to donate baseball gloves or cleats to be used by younger players is encouraged to bring them to the field during tryouts.
KELSEYVILLE — Lucerne Elementary has its first girls” basketball championship after the seventh-grade Lady Eagles won three straight games last week to claim the title in the end-of-season Lake County Tournament at Mountain Vista Middle School in Kelseyville.
Lucerne beat Upper Lake in the opening round, then scored the upset of the tournament with a victory over No. 1 seed Terrace School in the semifinals. The Lady Eagles competed their tournament sweep with a win over Mountain Vista in the championship game on Saturday.
Lucerne lost its first two games of the season but won its final eight.
