CLOVERDALE — Ryan Richardson”s 26 points powered the Clear Lake Cardinals past the Cloverdale Eagles 67-61 in a North Central League I South junior varsity boys” basketball game on Tuesday night in Cloverdale.

Avenging a South loss to the Eagles earlier this season, Clear Lake improved to 4-2 in the league standings and 16-5 overall.

Clear Lake coach Chris Fisher used a seven-man rotation to beat Cloverdale and received solid play from reserves Jason Edward, who spelled starting guard Noel McCormack when he got into foul trouble, and from Seth Glazier, who scored 10 points and was one of four Clear Lake players to finish in double figures. McCormack and Corey Dillon added 13 points apiece.

“Glazier did an excellent job off the bench,” Fisher said. “He hit the boards hard (eight rebounds). He just did a great job.”

Richardson sparked the Cardinals at both ends of the court, according to Fisher.

“He had an outstanding game on offense and defense.”
