KELSEYVILLE — A Kelseyville man allegedly shot at least two rounds from a .22-caliber rifle at his own brother, sheriffs officials reported Tuesday.

Michael Loren Allen, 32, of Kelseyville, was arrested Tuesday on multiple weapons charges that include assault with a firearm on a person, willful discharge of a firearm in negligence, and threatening a crime with intent to terrorize.

Lake County Sheriff”s deputies responded Monday to a report of an assault with a firearm in progress.

According to a LCSO press release, Allen had become involved in an argument with his brother, James Allen, 44, and Richard Manning, 30, both from Kelseyville.

Officers claim that during the argument, Allen chased his brother and Manning around the property, then went into the residence, retrieved a .22-caliber rifle and shot at them at least once while they were running in an orchard across the street from the residence.

Manning then called 911 from his cell phone, reporting that he had been shot at no less than two times. According to a witness, Allen pointed the firearm at the two victims. The witness did not hear any shots according to police reports. A .22-caliber rifle believed to have been used in the incident was recovered from the scene.

Allen left the residence prior to the arrival of deputies but was stopped by California Highway Patrol Officer Kevin Domby. Allen was then detained and according to law enforcement reports, agreed to be driven back to the scene. Michael Allen was arrested and transported to the Hill Road Correctional Facility, where he remains in custody on $30,000 bail. No one was injured during the incident.

Allen is due in court on Feb. 7 for arraignment.
